JHCC, the earliest chemical production plant in China, has shouldered the heavy responsibility of product manufacturing , technological support and human resources supply. 16 chemical products that were first developed by JHCC turned successfully into industrial production. JHCC has filled the vacuum of new China's chemical production's history. Besides, JHCC was also named as the "cradle of China's chemical industry" and it has become a milestone in the development of China's chemical industry.

Over ten years, JHCC has changed a lot. During "The Seventh-Five-Year-Plan" and "The Ninth-Five-Year-Plan" period, JHCC has successfully established caustic soda series equipment (yearly capacity of 290 thousand ton), PVC series equipment (yearly capacity of 130 thousand ton), and epihydrin series equipment (yearly capacity of 130 thousand ton) All the equipment were imported from Japan, the US, Germany, and Italy. The capacity of four leading products rank first in China, among which epihydrin, polyether also rank first in the Far East. JHCC has taken several years to successfully changed its multi-product medium-sized and small-sized plants into large and industrialized production of three big imported plants led by caustic soda, PVC, and epihydrin. Besides, JHCC has also materialized the transition from old production process with low benefit into new technology plants with high added value. JHCC has completely changed its extensive management in the past into intensive management of today.

History sheds light on the future and reminds us of the past. Today, China faces the opportunities and challenges of entering the WTO.
